I have been practicing psychotherapy on the Upper West Side in NYC for over thirty years, and my greatest inspiration has come from the many clients who have allowed me to witness, up close, their unique lives. Living within an urban setting like NYC presents a particular set of issues by itself, and helping others find moments of peace is a particular challenge. It is easy to get lost in the bombardment of distractions and pressures, and lose sight of what truly matters. Living a heart centered life in a city like ours is the goal.
Helping clients manage their anxiety and get the most out of their connections to others is of primary importance for me as a psychotherapist. I have personally been influenced by many philosophers and psychologists through the ages from William James and Carl Jung, to more current psychospiritual teachers like Eckart Tolle and Jack Kornfield. I have always tried to integrate a more traditional psychotheraputic approach with more Buddhist or eastern ways of looking at the world. My desire is to help clients discover their strengths and experience a greater sense of aliveness within a warm, interactive setting.
I received my undergraduate degree from Boston University and my LCSW from Stonybrook . I have been in private practice on the Upper West Side, NYC, since 1982. My post graduate training has included:
Everything can be taken from a man but one thing, the last of all human freedoms, to choose one’s attitude on any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. ~ Victor Frankl
